  1. Bedlinen size

1. Bedlinen size

The first thing you need to know is the size of your bed frame and quilt, and the size of your bedlinen should match it. For better orientation, refer to the standard dimensions of bed frames in the table below:

bedlinen size

Bedlinen type

SINGLE BEDLINEN – The standard size of single bedlinen is 200 x 140 cm and is particularly suitable for a youth bed or for a 200 x 90 cm bed frame. Of course, you can also use it for a French bed or use two single bedlinen sets for a double bed if you prefer not to share a quilt while sleeping. We especially recommend two single bedlinen sets to couples who have different preferences regarding the thermal or other properties of the quilt and therefore choose different quilts.

DOUBLE BEDLINEN – Double bedlinen is especially recommended for a double bed; it is available with dimensions 200 x 200 cm and above. We especially recommend it to everyone who likes to cuddle with their partner while sleeping.

EXTENDED BEDLINEN – This bedlinen size is for all those who are taller or want additional comfort. At Odeja, we offer extended bedlinen as well as quilts of equal dimensions. Extended bedlinen measures 220 cm in length.

At Odeja in Škofja Loka, we can always adjust the dimensions of the bedlinen according to your wishes.

2. Type of bedlinen fabric

Along with your quilt, pillow, and mattress, the bedlinen you choose will have a big effect on how you feel in bed and how you sleep. As sheets, quilt covers, and pillowcases hug your skin every night, it is important to consider what type of bedlinen will ensure the best sleep. The most suitable bedlinen for healthy sleep is made from the highest quality natural materials and woven according to the highest standards. Choose the fabric and weave of bedlinen that will also suit you best during your sleep.

COTTON SATEEN BEDLINEN – Cotton sateen is a fabric characterized by a special weave. Cotton sateen is extremely pleasant to the touch and has a slight sheen. Sateen bedlinen provides a unique feeling with a combination of natural softness and freshness. It is ideal for both warm summer nights and colder seasons, making it a great bedlinen choice for every season.

100% ORGANIC COTTON BEDLINEN

Cotton is probably the most common fabric used to make sheets and bedlinen. Cotton is natural, breathable, biodegradable, and pleasant to the skin. There are many types of cotton, but the best quality is 100% organic cotton, which is friendly to both the skin and the environment. Bedlinen made from 100% organic cotton with the prestigious GOTS certificate does not contain toxic chemicals and does not harm the environment. This bedlinen is also characterized by a completely natural and organic look, which becomes even more apparent after the first wash and thus emphasizes its authenticity. Organic cotton fibers are very breathable and perfectly wick away body moisture into the room, thus preventing excessive sweating. This bedlinen is suitable for anyone with sensitive skin, allergies, or asthma, and is also very easy to maintain and extremely durable.

3. Bedlinen colour combinations and patterns

The colour of bedlinen is a very personal choice. The most popular bedlinen colours are neutral colours such as white and cream, light brown, followed by grey, pink and green in a wide variety of shades. Using strong colours or patterns in bedspreads or decorative pillows can add a touch of liveliness to your bedroom without negatively affecting your sleep.

White bedlinen – Creates a fresh, soothing feel and always looks new. Generally, any bedroom with white bedlinen looks sophisticated and elegant.

Cream and beige Bedlinen – These neutral colours are soothing and easy to harmonise with most colour schemes.

Grey bedlinen – Cooler colours can help you feel fresher at night, ensuring a more comfortable sleep, especially during warmer months.

Brown bedlinen – All shades of brown have a calming and relaxing effect, so it is especially suitable for those who need a calm sanctuary after a busy day. Brown bedlinen goes well with lighter, modern bedrooms.

Pink, red, yellow and orange bedlinen – Warmer colour tones can promote a healthy nervous system. These colour tones help you wake up full of energy, happy and fresh.

Green bedlinen – Green earth tones such as forest green, moss and sage can provide an oasis of calm in your bedroom, helping you sleep easier and more peacefully.

Blue bedlinen This evokes a feeling of contentment and peace. Studies have shown that shades of blue can slow your heart rate and thus lower your blood pressure, helping you get a restful and deep sleep.

Black, anthracite bedlinen – These colours are easy to combine with any other colour scheme and are among the most stylish colours for bedlinen! A very good characteristic of dark colours is that they help you fall asleep quickly.

Printed bedlinen – Bedlinen patterns should complement the entire concept of the bedroom for a more sophisticated look. At Odeja, our decorative accessories always match the bedlinen collections, so you can liven up your bedroom with decorative pillows and bedspreads, further livening up printed bedlinen and emphasising the room.

Decorative bedspreads

Some people choose a decorative bedspread, as it gives a more aesthetic look to the bed and the entire bedroom, and at the same time protecting the bedlinen throughout the day. Sometimes, if necessary, it can also be used as an additional quilt.
